Pregnancy is an incredibly special time and a phase of your life that you’ll want to remember and look back on in years to come. While those nine months of waiting can seem to drag at times, they really do pass quickly, and the memory of your pregnancy is likely to fade over time.
This is why I love helping women to preserve the moment in beautiful, timeless pregnancy portraits.
My outdoor and studio maternity photoshoots present perfect opportunities to capture your blossoming baby bump and to create a photographic record of your pregnancy. This will be a memory for you to treasure both now and in the future.
Take a moment. Think about the incredible thing that is happening to you right now. You are growing an actual person!
Moments of peaceful reflection will definitely be harder to find once your baby arrives. The early days of parenthood are typically the most exhausting of your life with a new little person to care for.
A maternity photoshoot with me is a relaxing experience where the focus is entirely on you and your unborn baby. Plus, you’ll come away with gorgeous portraits that you’ll be able to enjoy now and in years to come. In fact, I think you will love them more as the years go by because you will forget about the pregnancy niggles and aches and pains, and see with more clarity how beautiful you were in that moment.
My photography studio in Boston Spa, Leeds is perfect for bump shoots! It’s a welcoming space which clients find pleasant and comfortable, and it’s where I offer studio maternity photoshoots as well as newborn, baby and family portrait sessions all year round.
Another great thing about my maternity photography studio is that it’s easily accessible to families located anywhere across West and North Yorkshire. It’s just a 20 minute drive from both Harrogate and York, and half an hour in the car from central Leeds.

If you love the idea of having some pregnancy portraits taken but are not sure whether to choose an outdoor or indoor maternity photoshoot, then here are a few things to consider:
One of the reasons why women often choose to book one of my indoor maternity sessions is because they are in the final weeks of pregnancy during the colder months.
Outdoor sessions are lovely in the spring, summer and autumn if the weather is good, but even in those milder months here in the U.K., great weather isn’t always guaranteed. So, the studio is great for when the weather makes an outdoor shoot unsuitable.
One of the best things about my photography studio is that it doesn’t matter what the weather is doing outside. I can always accommodate clients, whether they are tiny newborn babies, families or pregnant ladies.
Another reason to opt for a studio maternity photoshoot over an outdoor session is that you have more privacy.
This is important because you may wish to reveal your baby bump in your pregnancy photos. You’re likely to feel most comfortable baring your tummy in the studio (where it’s just you and me, and of course your partner if they want to be involved too).
Another benefit of an indoor maternity photoshoot is that you may also relax and enjoy the experience more knowing that there is no risk of being overlooked by passers-by.
During an outdoor maternity session, you’ll come dressed in the outfit of your choice and I’ll photograph you wearing this throughout the shoot. In contrast, if you’re in the studio, there will be time for one or two outfit changes.
So, if having pregnancy portraits showing you in a variety of outfits is important to you – perhaps you’re planning a pregnancy photo album or a multi-aperture framed display - then an indoor studio session is a great choice.
During a typical indoor pregnancy photoshoot, I photograph my maternity clients in outfits that we discuss and choose together. This can be anything from long elegant maternity dresses to your favourite casual outfit, depending on your individual style and preferences.
We can do some more revealing photos showing the baby bump, with you wearing a loose open shirt, for example. Or, we can get creative with chiffon fabrics and wraps to cover up the skin a little more if you wish, and also use props such as hats and other accessories.
