The days are long but the years are short

Meet Oliver

He first came to see me in my studio at two weeks old. He was tiny, still a bit wrinkly, completely fresh to the world. Mum and dad were elated, and exhausted.

I know there’s nothing like trying to get out of the house with a newborn baby so tea, biscuits and a comfy sofa are always on hand.

My studio is a very calm place during newborn sessions - after a relaxed 2 and half hours (the norm for a shoots with new babies), and a really good natter with Karen and Chris, we have a beautiful selection of baby images to mark Oliver’s arrival in the world.

Older Baby photshoots

 At 8 months old, Oliver came back to see me for a more wide awake look around my studio.

Sitting up, taking everything in, showing off his crawling and flashing some gorgeous smiles. My sitter sessions are all about personality and Oliver certainly has lots of character.

This shoot is a lot more lively than the last one, and much shorter too at around an hour. I have to be quicker with the shutter and there’s much more entertaining to be done to earn the giggles that make the best images.

Oliver was a dream to photograph - he laughed, he played, his smiled and he never stayed still for a single second (which I don’t mind at all!). Just look at his beautiful smile!

 First birthday portrait session

At just over a year old, I welcomed back into the studio a proper little boy, looking very dapper and handsome.

A little wary at first, it took a while for me to tease a smile out of one year old Oliver but as soon as we put his favourite tunes on, he warmed into the shoot and started dancing, singing, and laughing out loud.

We played with squishy footballs, colourful balloons and lots of bubbles and got some fabulous photographs for Karen and Chris to enjoy and look back on as Oliver gets older.

Celebrating your baby's first year

One of the very best bits of my job is seeing the children I meet grow and change. Especially in that very first year. It’s like no other time in your lives. Cherish it, hold on to it, and let me take some beautiful photographs for you, so that you never forget.
